My Bio
Hiya there! I'm Amber, but you can just call me Ammy. I play clarinet and my high school mascot was a falcon, hence the username. My work is split about 50/50 between art (drawing, painting, digital) and literature. I've been working on a novel entitled Aurora for a number of years now, so there's a bit of art/literature related to that.
I'm an astrophysicist from Houston who recently graduated with my bachelor's degree from CU. I'm planning on going to graduate school in the fall of 2014. I tend to upload art in large batches only every once in a while because of the demanding nature of my field.
I'm also a proud member of the The Classy Narwhal Team! (Formerly known as the CLHS Videography Club until we all graduated.) Aaawwwwww yeah! I do some photography too, but I have a lot more fun with videos, especially music videos.

I have a bachelor's degree in Astrophysics now! Yay!
That said, I should have more time for art for the next six months, as long as I don't drown in all the papers I have to grade. :D
My old hard drive has still not been recovered, but that's ok. I'll get it done eventually, and in the meantime there's plenty of stuff I can do by hand (read: dragon drawings) and on my laptop. I recently did some ink painting that turned out pretty great (3 pieces total, 4 if you count a silly one) - I'll scan and upload them soon.
In other news, I spent October through December playing Pokemon X and completing the Pokedex. Yup, I did it. BOW TO ME FOR I AM

April (End-of-Semester) Update

The last time I made a journal entry it was September or so, and a lot has happened since then, so I figured now was a good time to make a new post.
First of all - sadly, my hard drive's data recovery hasn't been completed yet, so it will still be a while before I can put up any of the stuff I was working on before my hard drive died. :/ I'm not sure how much longer it will take, but it'll happen, no worries.
Second of all, I was completely unaware until two days ago that my Sonnet in Lolspeak had been selected as a Daily Deviation on April 1. I was floored when I saw all the notifications. It's a huge honor for me - I've never had this kin

My hard drive died sometime in September. /sobs forever/
Fortunately, I know a certain awesome someone who is highly skilled at data recovery who has offered to get all my stuff back for me, so I haven't truly lost everything. Unfortunately, I can't work on any of the works in progress I had on my main computer. (I've been using my little laptop for the past two months for school, and it's been great for that, but it doesn't have the tools I need for art nor writing since my written works are all Pages documents.)
Anyway, that's why I haven't been on in a while. I guess it might be a good thing, considering how hectic my classes and whatnot
